Transfering to new domain

Finally, I have decided to start my a new blog on paid hosting with its new domain name. My current blogs, TechWorld and WebScape will both be integrated into this new blog. That's the main reason why I haven't been posting since quite a couple of days and won't be posting for about a week more.

When I finally setup wordpress and start working on it, I'll disclose the adress here.

Till then, just hang on...

PS: The new blog will talk about making money online, Technology, internet, computers, blogging and offcourse Webscapin'

Do you want to be a dot com mogul?

If you imagine of being a dot com mogul and want to make a fortune online, then your starting point must be at John Chow’s blog. He posts on his blog majorly about how to make money online.

I have read his blog (now I am a regular reader) and I can say his writing style is very good. He makes sure to involve the reader in all his posts. When you’re reading his post, it seems that you’re talking 1 on 1 with him.

You won’t believe it, but this guy is making over $10,000 a month with his blog. What amazes me more is that he achieved this much of earning just after a year of blogging and he says that originally he didn’t intend to monetize his blog! I can imagine if he had monetized his blog from the start then…

Anyways his blog sure can help you make money online. He’s always developing new schemes to help out his popularity.

John Chow dot com is a blog that can help you make money online. He calls himself the “root of all evil” and if he isn’t already then he’s pretty close. He’s always developing new schemes to help out his popularity.

As he has already become a dot com mogul, his advice on money making is pretty real since he claims that he used the same tricks to get popular. I have found many of his posts useful and they have helped me as a blogger. He is even kind enough to give his ebook for free! His ebook contains some of the money making strategies, tips, tricks and tactics that he used to become famous online. I have downloaded it and it certainly has helped me a lot. I recommend you do it too. And the best thing that I love about him as a blogger is that he replies to his readers comments (unlike some other “pro” and famous bloggers who just ignore the comments).

John is ever looking to help out his fellow bloggers and has started a review exchange where he’ll return the favor if you review him on your blog. Now imagine the benefits of having a PR6 (might get to PR7 in the next PR update) site link to you!

If you’re one of those wannabes dot com moguls, then I recommend you visit his blog and learn what all you can. It certainly is a must read and I also recommend you browse his blog for valuable posts if you’re really serious about making money online.

Wee! Blogging Games Day!

YAY! Today is a blogging games only day on TechWorld. So, I am (and will be) posting only about blogging games and nothing else.

Most of the blogging games actually do help you to increase traffic, make your technorati rank better and produce massive backlinks to your blog.

And the best part is, once you join a blog game your backlinks continue to be generated without you doing anything! My blogs have certainly got enormous help by joining various blogging games.

Since today is blogging games day, why don't you join all of them and start increasing the exposure to your blog today!

Increase your feed readers!

I just found this great blogging game which can help you to increase your feed subscribers and also get some backlinks. So what are you waiting for?! Just participating...

#Start copy here#

The idea is simple: You want readers and you want link backs too because that’s all us bloggers want, it’s more precious than milk for some:twisted:

So how does it work?
Simple! You just copy the list down below on your blog, hence creating link backs for your blogging friends and then click the RSS feed link to subscribe to all of them. Then you add yourself and up to 5 other bloggers and their feeds to the end of the list before you publish it on your own blog. Show your friends some link love :)

Just imagine if just 10 people would do this and then 10 more after them. That would get your blog 100 extra link backs and 100 extra feed subscribers!

The Original List:

#End copy here#

Increase your Technorati Ranking with ViralTags

I just came upon this great blog game which is basically an improvement over the original ViraLinks. This new version is called ViralTags and includes the anchor text instead of the normal '*'.

If you want to increase your Google PR and get massive amounts of backlinks, hop on this ViralTags Train before the steam finishes!

========= Copy and Paste below this line ==========

Instructions:

Important Update - Please read here!

1.) Copy and paste the matrix of “ViralTags” below courtesy of Founders Cafe (to support Jimmy’s quest of launching his own Internet Startup with a shoestring budget, please consider subscribing to his Full RSS Feed to see his triumps and struggles in real time).

2.) Substitute the Host Tag and one of the “Viral Tags” in the matrix with your anchor text of choice with your blog’s URL. Please keep anchor text to a max of 3 words to keep the matrix size manageable.

3.) When you get a ping back from someone that has your link in one of their “Viral Tags”, practice good karma by copying his/her Host Tag’s anchor text (automatically the associated link will also be copied) and paste it over one of your “Viral Tags” below.

4.) Encourage and invite your readers to do the same and soon this can grow virally.

Important: Once I get a ping back from you (I promise to do the best I can), I will add your anchor text and the associated link you designate as “Host Tag” here, replacing one of the “ViralTags” from the matrix above. As more and more bloggers copy and paste this matrix, the more backlinks you will have with your anchor text. If everybody who copy and paste from your blog does the same, pretty soon this will spread and go viral. So, the sooner you participate, the more links with anchor text you will receive.

======== Copy and Paste from Above this line ========

Easy right? Yep, it's as easy as that. Hurry up, what are you waiting for? Join ViralTags NOW!

You know you’re living in 2007 when…

  1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave.
  1. You haven’t played Solitaire with real cards in years.
  1. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of 3.
  1. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.
  1. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don’t have e-mail addresses.
  1. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries.
  1. Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen.
  1. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn’t have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it.
  1. You get up in the morning and go on line before getting your coffee.
  1. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. : )
  1. You’re reading this and nodding and laughing.
  1. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this message.
  1. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list.
  1. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn’t#9 on this list

AND NOW YOU ARE LAUGHING at yourself.

Go on, forward this to your friends. You know you want to.

Why Geeks and Nerds Are Worth It...

Hehe, this post is a funny one and somewhat real too…I just stumbled across it one day but forgot to note the url…would have given the credits if I knew it. Anyways, here the post:

In the wide world of dating, there are many options. Do you go for the flashy guy with the smooth smile, or the dude in the corner typing away on his laptop? The following are reasons why I think my fellow females should pay more attention to the quiet geeks and nerds, and less attention to the flashy boys.

  1. While geeks and nerds may be awkward, they’re well-meaning 9 out of 10 times. That smooth dude with the sly grin and the spider hands? Wonder what HIS intentions are... plus, I’ve never had a geek guy not call me when he said he would. Score major points THERE.
  1. They’re useful. In this tech-savvy world, it’s great to have a b/f who can make your laptop, desktop, and just about anything else that plugs into a wall behave itself.
  1. They’re more romantic than they’re given credit for. Ok true, their idea of romance might be to make up a spiffy web-page with all the reasons why they love you, with links to pics of you and sonnets and such... but hey. It lasts longer than flowers, plus you can show your friends.
  1. Due to their neglected status, there are plenty to choose from. You like ‘em tall and slender? There are plenty of geeks/nerds who are. You like ‘em smaller with more meat on their bones? Got that too.
  1. They’ve got brains. Come on now, how can intelligence be a bad thing?
  1. Most are quite good at remembering dates. Like birthdates and such, especially if they know it’ll make you happy. Due again to their neglected status, they’re more attentive than guys who “have more options”. Plus, with all that down time without a steady girlfriend, they’ll likely have mental lists of all the things they’d love to do once they GOT a girlfriend.
  1. Sex. Yep. Sex. I’m not really familiar with this myself, but I’ve friends who’ve been intimate with geek guys and it’s raves all around. They say a virgin wrote the Kama Sutra... all that time thinking about sex, imagining sex, dreaming about sex, (they are male after all) coupled with a desire to make you happy? Use your imagination.
  1. They’re relatively low-maintenance. Most can be fueled on pizza, Twinkies and Mt Dew. No complicated dinners needed here, so if you’re not the best cook, eh. Can you order a pizza?
  1. Most frequent bars as often as slugs frequent salt mines. You won’t have to worry much about your geek guy getting his “groove” on with club hotties because, frankly, he’ll be too busy rooting around under his computer wondering where that spare cable went. You won’t have to worry about him flirting with other women because, 9 out of 10 times, he’ll zip right by them in a perfect b-line towards the nearest electronics store. I’ve seen this happen.

Me: “Eww. Victoria Secret’s Models... They’re so skinny. How is that feminine? You can see her ribs!”
Geek Guy: “ooooooo...”
Me: “Hey!” *notices he is staring lustfully towards the computer store*
Geek Guy: “What?”
Me: “Never mind...”

  1. Although he may not want to go to every outing with you, you can arrange swaps, as in, you’ll go to his Gamer Con dressed as an elf princess if he’ll take you to the ballet. Plus, if he doesn’t want to go someplace with you, you won’t have to worry much about what he’s up to. You’ll probably come home to find him asleep on his keyboard in a sea of Mt. Dew cans with code blinking from the screen. It’s ok. He’s used to this. Just toss a blanket over him and turn out the light.
  1. His friends aren’t jerks. I can’t stress this enough. You’ll more likely get “Omg! A GIRL!! Can I see?!” than “Hey hot stuff back that ass up here and let me get some grub on...” They’re awkward geeks too and will, 9 times out of 10, treat you with the utmost respect and, more than likely, a note of awe. A cute girl picked one of their clan to date? It could happen to them! Hope! Drag some of your single girlfriends over, open up a pack of Mt. Dew, crack open the DnD set and get working. Nothing impresses geek guys more than a girl who can hack-n-slash (well ok maybe if she can code... a geek can dream).
  1. They’re rarely if ever possessive. They trust you, so you can be yourself around them. You like to walk around the house in a ratty t-shirt for comfort? He won’t care. He does too! They won’t get pissy if you don’t wear make-up or don’t want to bother primping your hair. If you gain a few pounds, they won’t try their best to make you feel like crap.
  1. They’re usually very well educated. Physics majors and the like. See #5. You won’t have to listen to him blathering on about his car (ok maybe a little), he’ll have loads of other interesting things to talk about. Politics, world events, how much the chicken burgers down at the local place rock, so long as you douse them in hot sauce...
  1. You’ll almost never have to hear, “Yaw dawg whazzap!!” plop out of their mouths. Unless it’s in jest. They spell properly, use correct punctuation, and are able to tell the difference between the toilet and the floor. They almost never get “wasted”, so you won’t have to worry about coming home to find him and his friends passed out on the floor amidst a pile of beer bottles. Mt. Dew cans, perhaps...
  1. And the final reason why geeks and nerds make great boyfriends: They actually give a damn about you. Not how you look (though that’s a plus), not how skinny you are, not how much make-up you primp yourself up with, but they like you for you. That kind of thing lasts longer than “DaMN baby you got a fine ass!!!”

Believe me.

How to make your text appear more smoother in Windows

What font anti-aliasing does is it makes all the text displayed on your PC appear much smoother than normal. The effect is pretty nice and makes the text more readable.

In Apple’s Mac, font anti-aliasing is enabled by default. If you’re thinking you can’t make your text smoother in Windows, then you’re wrong. Even though the option to anti-alias your text is available, it’s disabled by default.

Note that font anti-aliasing is only possible on Windows XP and I think is enabled by default in Vista.

Here’s how to enable text/font anti-aliasing in Windows XP:

Step: 1

Go to your desktop, right click on the wallpaper and click Properties.

Step: 2

Now, the Display Properties window opens. Click on the Appearance tab and then click on the Effects button as shown in the picture above.

Step: 3

Now, the Effects window opens. Click the checkbox (if already not checked) where the top-most cursor is placed. After that, click on the drop down menu as shown and select ClearType instead of standard. Click on OK and click on Apply in the Display Properties window.

Voila! That’s it you’re done. Now you’ll see smooth fonts…enjoy…

I have ClearType enabled also and I recommend you do it too. Windows looks much better with font smoothing enabled…

I Know Many Of Them Don Work. But If You Have Luck On Ur Side One Of Them May Actually Work.

Hope you liked all the hacks and don't forget to dig/stumble this post if you liked it

PPS: Don't blame me if the some of the link generators aren't working. You're not the only ones using them you know. When many users are downloading from a generator at once, their server gets overloaded and they shut down the service for the day. Also, it's hardly ever that each and every one of the above listed Premium Link Generators aren't working. So, at any given time, atleast one generator in the list will be working...

Microsoft’s Multitouch Table Computer: The surface PC will show up in Hotels, Casinos, and T-Mobile stores in November

Microsoft’s lastest hardware project intriguingly mixes elements of futuristic interface, the iPhone touch system, and the exterior design of old Pac-man gaming tables. Surface, as Microsoft is calling it, consists of a Windows Vista PC, a short-throw DLP projector, and five cameras, all built into a cocktail table with a translucent top.

You can forget about a keyboard and mouse when you interact with Surface. Instead, you use your fingers—and your friends use theirs, too—to handle images and data. Mark Bolger, director of marketing for Microsoft’s consumer productivity experiences group, says, “This is a NUI—a natural user interface. It’s a natural way for people to interact with digital content using their hands. Users can control information with the flick of a hand.” Surface will also interact with objects placed on top of it.

The first-generation Surface will be too expensive for homes, Microsoft says. Instead, you’ll see units in casinos, hotels, and stores run by the company’s partners: Harrah’s Entertainmen, International Game Technologies, Starwood Hotels, and T-Mobile.

You probably won’t use Surface to build your next spreadsheet, but it’s a good way for a group to look at photos, plan a trip on a huge map, or just order drinks at a restaurant.

Surface will recognize up to 52 points of touch at any one time, thanks to five cameras within the table that are trained on over-lapping sections of the top. As with Apple’s iPhone, you can use two fingers to stretch or shrink a photo. You can also rotate a shot, toss it to the side, or stack it with others.

When you place objects on Surface that it recognized, it will supply information about them. Place a camera on the tabletop, and its images will automatically transfer to Suface.

Get Viral!

Yesterday, I found this great Viralink through which you can get many back links. I noticed about these Viralinks when I was reading Andy Coat's blog and came across a post highlighting these links.

Since my blog is comparatively new, I certainly need new backlines by the day so I can make more people to come to my blog. Thus, I need to go Viral!

New Firefox Browser Fixes Seven Security Holes

Mozilla has shipped a new version of its popular Firefox Web browser to plug multiple security holes. The fixes embedded in the latest iteration of Firefox, version 2.0.0.5, are not included in older versions of Firefox (e.g., 1.5.x and lower), so those users will need to upgrade to the latest 2.0.0.5 release to be fully protected.

In all, Mozilla fixed at least seven security vulnerabilities in its latest release, including a flaw Security Fix wrote about last week that uses the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser to trick Firefox into opening up a variety of dangerous security holes.

Do update and be safe.

MMORPG information delay

I would like to inform you in this post that you won’t see the continuation of the MMORPG series for a week.

Of the MMORPG series, only I have to post about the most popular and MMOGs that are currently free or in beta.

So, for those two posts, you will just have to patiently wait.

They are being delayed because I just can’t find the time nowadays to do some major research and these two posts certainly require huge amount of research. But don’t worry, when I do post about these two remaining topics of the MMORPG series, I’ll make sure that the posts are pretty big and very informational, so you can get your due.

Yay finally converted my blogger template to 3-columns!

Finally my hard work paid off. After about 20 minutes of hand-coding the template and about an hour of tweaking, TechWorld finally has a 3-column template instead of the usual boring 2 column template that blogger originally has.

In a few days I’ll be posting the exact method through which you can do the same. Just have some patience.

Decision regarding TechWorld

I was thinking yesterday whether my blog was too focused on technology, computers and internet as a whole rather than their sub-categories. I have now thought to include popular sub-categories such as online money making, bringing traffic to your blog etc. Rightly so, as all these sub-categories fall under the theme of the Internet.

TechWorld will now be a full fledged blog with everything related to computers, internet or technology whether as a whole or as in their sub-categories.

I felt my readers were getting much less than what they wanted, and finally came to the conclusion of including the popular sub-categories of my theme more into TechWorld. I also did this so this blog would appeal to more people; as a person who likes blogging or who likes building websites might not be a technology geek.

Now, it doesn’t matter whether you are a techno geek or just want to make money online, all of you will find my blog useful.

The new Xbox 360 Elite

The $480 Xbox 360 Elite offers two improvements over its predecessor, the Xbox 360. The hard drive capacity leaps from 20GB to 120GB, and the new HDMI 1.2 interface delivers better quality.

The Elite includes an internal DVD drive; the $200 HD DVD Player remains a cumbersome accessory, but at least its software is better integrated with the Elite.

You get Ethernet, but Wi-Fi is still a $100 add-on. In total, the Elite will set you back $780 if you take it with Wi-Fi and an HD DVD drive.

But the Xbox 360 currently provides the best online gaming experience, and it arguably has the edge for now over the Sony PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii in the number of available games. Plus, the revamped Xbox Live Marketplace, with its standard and high-definition movie and TV show downloads, is a boon.

I see little reason to chuck an old Xbox 360 in favor of the Elite, because both can serve multiple purposes—namely, playing games, buying and downloading HD video, and streaming music, photos, and movies from networked PCs. But first-time buyers should spring for the Xbox 360 Elite.

Troubleshooting

Many times I have seen some PC related troubleshooting questions posted on some of the forums I visit, and often they are the same queries that have been posted earlier also. So I thought why not include the common queries in my blog too? At least then people won’t have to ask every time how it can be done, you can just view them right here.

And if your PC is troubling you, and you can’t find an answer to your problem, then you’re welcome to drop me an email anytime!

I’ll be bringing common troubleshooting issues to light every once in a while. All though, every troubleshooting issue wont be in this very thread, I’ll post new topics in my blog under the tag of Troubleshooting and you can access all the topics easily.

Ok, now let’s start with some of the issues.

Many of you would’ve made a few PowerPoint Presentations by now. Even though most of the people nowadays know how to operate and make a presentation, but they don’t know how to share that presentation with others. Ok, so here’s the exact question:

"I have done a presentation in PowerPoint and want it to run independently. I just want the person viewing the presentation to see it without running powerpoint."

There are two solutions to your problem, so I will tell you both of them.

First, if you just want them to see just the presentation slides, then save your presentation as a PowerPoint show.

After you prepared your presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint, go to the file menu and choose ‘Save As’. Choose a filename as normal, but instead of saving it as a PPT file, as you normally would, choose the option PowerPoint show from the drop-down menu. A PowerPoint show file has a PPS extension.

When you open that PPS file, it will immediately show your slides full screen.

Sometimes people think that by using this method, they can prevent others from editing their slides. That isn’t true and the slides can still be edited.

Second, if you have a PowerPoint file, but the person viewing it doesn’t have PowerPoint installed on their computer, then they need to download the free PowerPoint viewer from Microsoft.

Download Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer

Ok, so that’s it for the PowerPoint thing. Now let’s move on to a security question related to Windows (security queries are generally related to Windows aren’t they?).

"I haven't got round to downloading Service Pack 2 for Windows XP, I run the ZoneAlarm firewall which was free and probably not the best firewall out there, but it's better than nothing. I also have Spybot Search & Destroy. With the service pack, will I be able to do away with these and rely on Windows?"

Service Pack 2 was an important update for Windows XP released over two years ago, which fixed some bugs and added a significant amount of additional security features to prevent online attacks on Windows machines. I highly recommend that you start downloading SP2 right now; it will take a bit of time to download since it’s quite large. Windows XP as it is with SP2 is insecure; without it you’re just waiting for your PC to get virus infected.

(Now if you’re thinking that Windows XP is highly insecure still, think how much insecure it would have been before SP2?).

Anyways, one of these added security features is a built-in firewall software which controls how your computer connects to the internet, and stops anything from coming in without your permission.

But, believe me, it very-very basic and hardly stops any attacks. If you’re used to ZoneAlarm, carry on using it, it is one of the best firewalls out there. Though I have noticed that the free version is considerably difficult to find on their website than it used to be, so here’s the link to the download page (you know that I am generous right?):

Download ZoneAlarm

The new version of Microsoft Windows, that is Vista, however does include a much more fully featured firewall. (Though personally I still don’t trust its security and I have bought Norton Internet Security to be fully sure.)

You can get SP2 and all other updates from Windows Updates.

Microsoft Windows Update

Note that Service Pack 2 is an enormous download, so only try it to download if you have broadband. Alternatively, if you have dial-up, you can go to a cyber café nearby, point your browser to The Software Patch and download all the updates manually starting from the earliest date and then install then transfer the files to a Flash Disk and install them in your PC.

Service Pack 2 may also slow down your computer a little.

I think the firewall protection is the most important part of the upgrade. If you are running a premium (not free) and up-to-date firewall software then you might be able to do without Service Pack 2, still it’s highly recommended that you download it.

Ok, so that’s it for the security query.

Now, the following question is about pop-ups and spyware (and yes they can be related). Just before we start answering/stating the question though, I would like to touch on ‘What is Spyware?’

Well, spyware is software which is loaded onto your computer without your knowledge, or possibly without the full functionality being made clear to you. It can, among other things, slow your internet connection down and make frustrating changes to your browser.

So here’s the question:

"A pop-up window on my computer told me that Errorguard found 163 critical faults on my computer. Is this organisation safe to pay $30 to fix the problems?"

I would be very cautious of any piece of software which first suggested that you had alarming faults on your computer, and then tried to get you to part with $30. Often, the software which scares you into installing it can turn out to be exactly the kind of spyware they claim to protect you against!

I suggest that you just close the pop-up and forget about. If still you’re thinking that your computer is infested with spyware, I suggest you download a legitimate anti-spyware program.

Spybot Search and Destroy is one of the best anti-spyware programs around. And what’s more is that it’s free!

Download Spybot Search and Destroy

Microsoft also has its own Anti-Spyware software which goes by the name of Windows Defender. It is also free.

Even though it’s simple to use, and you can schedule regular scans for spyware, the problem with Defender is that it doesn’t identify and remove all of the spyware and some spyware might still be in your PC. Nevertheless, the updates are automatic and come free. You might like to try it, but I would never rely on Windows Defender alone. Also, you must verify that your copy of Windows is genuine before Microsoft will let you download it.

Download Windows Defender

MMORPGs Continued...

Ok, sorry for the delay...But here's the continuation of the MMORPG post:

MY FAVORITE MMOGs

Personally, my favorite MMOGs are Gunz: The Duel and A3. I can never forget those ones.

A3

A3 stands for Art, Alive, Attraction. It’s mainly a region-based Fantasy genre MMORPG, with a Korean version and an Indian one. Unless you know Korean, I highly doubt you can play the Korean version. In the Indian version, the language is English, so you can play it. Also A3India is pretty cheap in terms of cost per month. It can be from $2 - $5 per month, which, if you compare with other MMOGs, is waaay cheap. The graphics are very good and the gameplay is enticing.

A3 is based on the eternal power struggle between immortals and humans and has a compelling storyline of love, hatred and revenge that unfolds over several episodes. The adventures and battles in A3 take place in the harsh lands of ‘Hellmarsh’.

If you want to know more about this game, visit the official A3India website: www.a3india.com

Gunz: The Duel

As the name suggests, this game involves guns. It’s basically a MMOTPS (Massively Multiplayer Online Third Person Shooter), though some people might disagree. It’s one of the few games I’ve seen which has elements of a shooter blended in with elements of a RPG. No, it is not purely fighting and fighting only, you can also do quests. And the nice thing about this online game is that it also features melee battles with a sword!

If you have a nice PC and your internet connection is also pretty good, then you can enjoy very nice graphics and gameplay without any ‘ping’ or ‘laag’ problems. There are five popular versions (there are a few more, but I tell only about the popular ones J) as of now. They are:

  1. International Gunz
  2. Japanese Gunz
  3. Korean Gunz
  4. Indian Gunz
  5. North American Gunz

The story is basically the same, the only difference between the different versions is the language and the progress the game has made so far. Both Japanese and Korean Gunz are the most progressed, they have the most members, all new maps and premiums and other small additions. International Gunz was released after these two, but hasn’t made much progress yet, though it certainly is popular (but the lag or ping problem is a huge one in this version, since there are players from all parts of the world). Indian and North American Gunz are recent entities. Both of these versions are making quick progress, especially the latter one, which recently went from Open Beta into the premium stage.

Unless you are a Japanese or Korean citizen, you can’t play the Korean & Japanese version of this game (even if you know Japanese or Korean) because it’s against the TOS of these versions. International is pretty laagy and unless you have an awesome internet connection, I certainly am against you joining this version. The versions I recommend to join are either the North American (also known as ijji) Gunz or the Indian Gunz.

In Gunz, unlike other MMOGs, you don’t pay a penny for playing the game EVER, even when it goes into the premium stage. You have the option to buy premium items which are customized and are much better if you compare them with their normal counterparts. And even these items are pretty cheap to buy.

Since I don’t know the website of all of the versions, you can go to the International Gunz website and then click on any version name on the main page to go to the specific website. The International Gunz website is: www.gunzonline.com

The rest as usual next time :)

Technorati Favorites Exchange

If you would like to exchange your blog’s Technorati Favorites with my blog then read on…

Add to Technorati Favorites

Well, let me first explain what is this exchange and how does it work.

Technorati is a blog indexing website. If you have a blog then I’m certain that you’re a member of Technorati and that you already know about it. If you aren’t a member yet, then go to the official Technorati website (www.technorati.com) and sign-up. Through Technorati, you can see your blog ranking and which blogs are linking to you.

Technorati’s ranking system is based on the amount of links leading to the blog and also the number of times it has been favorited by other bloggers. I have seen many blogs that have utilized the being favorited factor and risen in the Technorati rankings.

Add to Technorati Favorites

If you’re high in the Technorati rankings, then you have the potential to receive many visitors. Also, search engines like Google take data from Technorati’s database. So, a higher ranking in Technorati may also result in a higher ranking in search engines like Yahoo! and Google.

MMORPGs

Well, I decided to post about MMORPGs today. So, do you like playing games with your friends in multiplayer mode? If so, you are bound to like MMORPGs. The acronym MMORPG stands for ‘Massively Multiplayer Role Playing Game.’ The major difference between normal games played in multiplayer mode and MMORPGs is that in MMO games, there are thousands of players involved in the game and playing at the same time. This is what makes these type of games addictive and fun to play.

A Massive(ly) Multiplayer Online Role-playing Game or MMORPG is a multiplayer computer role-playing game that enables thousands of players to play in an evolving virtual world at the same time over the Internet. These games only work with a braodband internet connection and are completely played online.

Here’s how it works: Players run a client (game files installed on their pc) and then connect to a Game server. This allows the users to log into a virtual world. The virtual world continues regardless of who is logged in or not. When a player logs in, they are represented in the game world by a graphical representation of the character they play. The players are allowed to shape their own experience by providing multiple (or customizable) characters that the player can use.

Once a player enters the world, they can engage in a variety of activities with other players who are accessing the game the same way from all over the world.

Most MMORPGs run several identical copies of the virtual world, called "shards", "sub-worlds", "continents", "servers" or "realms", that the player can choose from.

Some of the most popular commercial MMORPGs report over 200,000 subscribers and the South Korean MMORPGs claim the highest subscription numbers by far reporting millions of registered users.

Most MMORPGs provide support for large in-game groups of players, commonly called clans but also sometimes called "guilds" or other names depending on the game. A clan can be a social group or have a specific game-related purpose, ranging from helping newbies to teaming up in player versus player combat. Most new MMORPGs feature "raids", challenging encounters designed for one or more clans to participate in.

Seems exciting right? It sure is. I came to know of MMO games back in 2005. Back then, the internet wasn’t as fast and cheap as it is now. This kind of affected the graphical qualities of online games. But now they are much better in terms of graphics and sound-effects due to the internet becoming cheaper and speedier.

If you want to play an MMO game, make sure your internet connection is broadband (at least 1 mbps) and has unlimited bandwidth, i.e. there are no limits on how much you download from or upload to the internet. This is necessary because when you play an online game, data is continuously downloaded and uploaded until you exit the game.

Your hands sure must be itching by now to play a MMORPG. Well don’t even try searching Google for such games because there are thousands of them and did I forget to tell that most of MMORPGs become paid after a couple of months of release? Well, don’t be too afraid because most MMOGs are about a dinner’s worth per month (yeah from $10-$30). Not much as you’re paying per month.

Now, since I know you hate scouring the internet to find something, I’ll provide you with information of the most popular MMOGs, MMOGs that are free and currently in beta testing and also my favorite MMOGs.

PS: A nice website for checking out all the MMOGs currently out is www.mmorpg.com. It contains most of the MMOGs (I don’t think that it includes region-based MMO games though).

Rest tomorow :)

Mozilla Firefox

Firefox: The greatest browser EVER made…

So, my first post is about FireFox…Rejoice!

Still using Microsoft Internet Explorer? If your answer to my question is ‘yes’ then read on, I have posted this just for people like you.

If you are a techy geek, I’ll bet you are using Firefox to view my blog right now. If not, I’ll tell you what Firefox is, how is it the best in terms of everything and why you should get it right now! Even if you are a techy geek, don’t turn away just yet because I’ll also tell about the most popular and recommended add-ons for Firefox, though you may skip the introduction part.

Well, Firefox, in my opinion, if the best browser available on the internet. It’s the fastest (well second fastest after the beta release of Safari on Windows – but only by a small margin) and also the most secure browser available. You can tremendously increase it’s capability by installing some add-ons. For example, some add-ons enable you to download videos from video streaming websites while using other add-ons you can capture screenshots of only the web-page you are viewing.

Its miles ahead of Microsoft Internet Explorer in terms of security, faster loading of webpages (Firefox is twice as fast as Internet Explorer in terms of loading of webpages) and also in the fact that you can install some add-ons which increase its usefulness – which is almost non-existent in IE. Firefox also takes less time to load itself (the .exe) and, in my opinion, is pretty user-friendly. If you are still using IE, for some weird reason, I recommend you switch to Firefox immediately.

To download Firefox now, visit the official website at: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/

What Firefox features:

  • Improved Tabbed Browsing

  • Spell Checking

  • Search Suggestions

  • Session Restore

  • Web Feeds (RSS)

  • Live Titles

  • Integrated Search

  • Live Bookmarks

  • Streamlined Interface

  • Accessibility

And much more...check out this webpage if you want to see the complete feature list: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/features.html

Ok, so enough of the introduction to the greatest browser ever made. Let’s get on to the add-ons. Here I list some add-ons that are a must have for any user. Be sure to look at all of them. Each add-on’s name is linked to its download site which also contains a small description.

Tip: Do you have 2 PCs and want to download all these plugins/ add-ons just once instead of both times having to download them? Well here’s a solution. If you have a download manager, then it’s all the better. Just right click on the download button and click ‘Copy Link Location’. Then, paste the link in your download manager and start downloading. When the download is complete, simply drag the add-on file into the website display area and it’s installed in Firefox! As simple as that and you just have to download it once…

Add-ons recommended by me

Believe me if you download Firefox along with all these add-ons, you will change the way you see browsers and it will totally revamp your internet experience. If you haven’t downloaded Firefox by now, then download it at: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/

Introduction

Hi, well I always begin with an introduction whenever I start a blog. You can call me RKC and I am pretty passionate about the world of technology, computers and the internet. So, since my interests revolve around technology, computers and internet, I decided why shouldn’t I write a blog about this?

I really love blogging, kind of has become my new hobby, especially after my father’s deputation to this boring African country. Since I have so much time on my hands, even after doing all school work and other stuff, I decided to finally start blogging. You won’t believe me, but I am in front of the PC for about 4-5 hrs a day and I get a 4.0+ GPA in school. Hehe, cool right?

But this isn’t my first blog. My first blog was titled ‘Anything & Everything’ but didn’t last long…I just scrapped it up after just 5 days. Well, my second blog (now first) is WebScape. I sometimes stumble upon nice websites and I share them right there. If you want to discover some ‘gem’ websites then visit my blog WebScape: http://web-scape.blogspot.com/

And this is my third (second) blog ‘TechWorld’. As the title suggests I’ll discuss anything related to technology and the internet that fancies me. Also, I am making another blog which contains some jokes, shayaries (poems) and some other cool things. Once my school re-opens, I am thinking to start a blog which will basically function as an online school diary.

PS: If the ads are really bothering you, well I apologize but to fund my college life, I need money and so all of my websites and blogs have ads on them.
